Endeavour - 1953

Dear friends

Mr Kanda has searched through his treasured possession to help us unfold some mysterious past of our school. He found some old magazines dated as far back as 1953 - 1957 and has very kindly made copies of those publications for us. I have read through them and was enthralled by what the school and students were involved in during those days. Other than missing out on computer technologies, those students were not worse off in view of the enrichment programs they enjoyed and their high command of English as reflected in their essay and poem writings.

They had fun fairs in those days to raise funds for scholarships and to buy a projector for the school so that they could screen films for the children as follow-ups on their lessons. They even formed an Animal Lovers' League to rescue stray animals in the vicinity.

In view of the interesting history, I thought it would be a good idea to share some excerpts of them with you on the blog. Below are from the 1953's publication. However if you do wish to read the complete hard copies, feel free to get them from me.

Mr Kanda, your contribution is deeply appreciated. Thank you !

Regards
Ai Lay
